Embracing Tech was founded in the fall of 2011 by Vanessa McAfee.
Here is a personal message from Vanessa:
The idea for Embracing Tech emerged during a conversation with my husband. We were out to dinner on a Saturday evening and discussing our parents’ new smartphones and the challenges they expressed using them. I realized that while I always encouraged my parents and other family members to buy smartphones and e-Readers and “just Google it!” or "do it online!", I often ignored their apprehension to adopt new technology. I began to see the so-called technology gap in my own life. I have been fortunate to grow up in the age of the Internet. Over the years, I have developed a passion and curiosity for new technology. I started Embracing Tech because I saw an opportunity to combine two things I love, teaching and technology, in a unique way to make a difference in people’s lives. |
